Clean R Rated Movies?

moviSick of taking students to the movies, only to be embarrassed while you sit next to them and watch Hollywood unleash a string of profanity, violence and nudity? If you have a little patience there may be a solution for you. More and more companies today are taking the objectionable content out of Hollywood movies. Companies such as cleanfilms.com are legally modifying the content of movies by purchasing the original and then offering a one on one match for the movie, without the Hollywood spin. The way they can get away with this  is to offer membership in a private co-op. When they purchase an original movie, they can only make one unedited copy per purchased copy, but membership in the co-op means that you have the right to use the edited movies.

Think about some of the advantages of this. 1. You stay in touch with the culture, without being subject to the trash of the world. 2. Your list of movies to view with students has radically increased (I know some of you have watched Remember the Titans 400 times.) 3. You can help them analyze movies that parents would otherwise never let them watch, and 4. If you have children in your own home you can watch movies without having to worry about graphic violence, sex or language. I think the verdict is still out as to whether or not these kinds of companies will make it financially, but at least some people are out there trying to filter out the bad from the worse.
